Terms & Conditions

• For websites you have paid for the creation of there is no fee to transfer out your website to another web hosting provider.
• Please note that 3rd party software licences (e.g. website plugins/extensions) we manage on your behalf are non-transferable and may result in you having to purchase new licenses.
• Transfer out of website data will be completed within 48 hours of your request.

• For websites that were created for free (e.g. free setup, no website setup fee, only pay hosting etc.), a fee of £40 per page is applicable if you wish to transfer out the site.
• Please note that 3rd party software licences (e.g. website plugins/extensions) we manage on your behalf are non-transferable and may result in you having to purchase new licenses.
• Transfer out of website will be completed within 48 hours of settling your final invoice.

• There is no fee for transferring a domain to a different registrar
• Domain transfers are subject to delays from 3rd parties. 
• Once a domain transfer has been initiated SlashDotDash accepts no liability for loss of domain if caused by a 3rd-party.
• We will aim to initiate the transfer out of a domain to a different registrar within 48 hours of the request.

• A fee may be applicable when transferring in a domain from a different registrar.
• Domain transfers are subject to delays from 3rd parties.

• We do not accept responsibility or liability of loss of domain ownership when transferred in.

• Email we host on our servers is subject to a 30-day cancellation notice.
• No cancellation fees are due.
• A backup of your mail account is kept for up-to 7-days after cancellation. (Recovery fee is applicable)
• Your mail accounts will become unavailable.

Tip: Make a backup of your important data before your cancellation.

• Email provided by a 3rd party (e.g. Microsoft, Google etc.) is subject to a 30-day cancellation notice.
• Cancellation fees may be payable depending on your billing cycle.

• When cancelling a domain name your domain is no longer protected and therefore may be acquired by a third party.
• Domain names allowed to lapse renewal are no longer protected and therefore may be acquired by a third party.
• All services associated with the domain will be disconnected.

• 30-days notice is required in order to cancel your web-hosting account.
• Once your web-hosting account is cancelled…
• …your existing websites and SlashDotDash contract will no longer be accessible.
• …your existing domains will no longer be secured and may therefore be acquired by third parties.
  
• …any data associated with your web-hosting account (such as database, email, website, DNS settings) will be deleted.

Tip: Make a backup of your important data before your cancellation.

• Payments due and not received by the due date may result in your domain name being acquired by a third party.
• Third party redemption fees may be applicable if you would like us to attempt to reacquire your domain name.
• A late payment fee may be applicable if we have renewed your domain but not received payment.

• Payment due and not received by the due date may result in your web-hosting account being deleted. Please note that this includes the deletion of any files & settings associated with your web-hosting account such as DNS, Email, Database & Website.
• A backup of your web-hosting account is retained for up to 7 days after your payment due date. Restoring a backup does not guarantee all data can be restored to your web-hosting account.
• For web-hosting accounts that need to be restored from backup following a late-payment or non-payment, all outstanding invoices including a late payment fee and a data recovery fee must be paid before your web-hosting account is restored. 
• A late payment fee may be applicable if we have renewed your web-hosting account but not received payment.
• A web-hosting account recovery fee may be applicable.

• Backups are taken daily and are securely stored offsite.
• Data is stored in backups as part of our disaster recovery solution.
• Data recovery from backup is not guaranteed.
• Backups are retained for 7 days.
• Requests for data recovery may be subject to a fee.

• You accept that SlashDotDash Ltd is not responsible or liable in the event of data loss or loss of ownership.

• For security reasons certain features of WordPress are disabled. (e.g. XML-RPC).
• Installation of plugins and themes by the client is disabled.
• Amendments to your WordPress configuration (including the installation of themes and plugins) can be requested by contacting SlashDotDash. 

• SlashDotDash Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
• In the event of a dispute, SlashDotDash Ltd retains the final decision.

• By making payment to SlashDotDash for services you are agreeing to and accepting in full the terms and conditions on this page.

• 02/07/2025 – Invoices issued by SlashDotDash Ltd for any service provided (e.g. web-hosting, email-hosting, SEO, tech support etc) that are not paid by the invoice due date may be collected by SlashDotDash Ltd using a payment method held on file (e.g. direct-debit, credit card, debit card). If the payment method doesn’t allow your invoice to be fully paid off:
• a late payment fee may be applied
• you may experience partial or full loss of service(s)
• a third-party may be used to retrieve the debt

• 02/07/2025 – Where a payment collection is attempted but fails due to being outdated or lack of funds, a processing fee for each retry will be charged.

• 02/07/2025 – You may request removal of payment methods held on file as long as no invoices are currently unpaid.

• 09/09/2025 – Export of your site is limited to a standard WordPress export and not using a third-party plugin to create an export. Your export will be an XML file in the format of WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, and will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags. You will also get a dump of the WP-Uploads folder containing any uploaded media files. Please note that your export will not include any theme data.

These terms and conditions were last updated on 09/09/2025. New customers have this conditions applied immediately. Existing customers have these updated conditions added 30 days after they are published. Please ensure you regularly review these terms and conditions each time your hosting renews. Payment indicates acceptance of the terms & conditions.
